Film Screening: American Creed

Wednesday, July 10 at 6:30 p.m.

Join us for a screening of the PBS documentary American Creed, which features former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David M. Kennedy coming together from different points of view to investigate the idea of a unifying American creed. Their spirited inquiry frames the stories of citizen-activists striving to realize their own visions of America’s promise across deepening divides. A discussion will follow the screening, moderated by Cathy Griner, a teacher consultant at the Gateway Writing Project, specializing in American Creed-themed projects.

The event is free and open to all.

This event is part of the Library's summer-long American Creed: Community Conversations program series. American Creed: Community Conversations is a project of Citizen Film in partnership with the American Library Association and the National Writing Project, with support from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
